I've had a very interesting obsession with Romeo and Juliet in high school. I even wrote a (never published) screenplay that was a modernized update of the classic, and my fantasy video for Chad Kroeger's 2002 (?) hit "Hero" (for the Spiderman soundtrack) featured a Romeo and Juliet-like scenario between a young member of heroic ninja brothers (who were outcasted in the city by the media) and the city mayor's daughter.
The ironic thing was I started out enjoying the play when I first read then quickly lost interest (not only the language, but also those boring-long speeches that took up 20+ lines.
