normal?? I had thought big balls on babies was normal until I saw people's reactions (some have boys of their own)... Please help! I'm a 1st time mom and I don't know what is normal and OK! What size is average for his age, please tell!
And another thing, my friend's 1 mo. old baby boy's penis is often erect! Very hard! Is this normal?.. My baby's never is! Is THAT normal??

yes the erection is normal it's just sensitive and when air hits it, it can often become errect. this happens to my son all the time hes 6 months and it's been ahppening since he was just a few weeeks. and i get the same reaction from people about my sons penis sometimes it kinda bothers me but it's normal some are just bigger than others. when my son was borna the nurse was like wow oh we have a proud daddy here lol

Dressing up the boy as a princess will not make him gay, or a serial killer, or depressed as he gets older. He may be embarrassed by it but who doesn't have any embarrassment from their childhood? If this was the other way around and a girl wanted to dress up in as a prince nobody would say anything. Is dressing up as a princess his idea or yours? It sounds like it is yours. My advice would just ask him what he wants or take him down the costume isle and let him pick a "boy" costume.

Your son may have bilateral hydroceles. These are sacs filled with fluid that are adjacent to the testicles. Darken a room and put a small penlight on the scrotum. The hydroceles will glow red (transilluminate). Most of these resolve in a few months. A few are associated with hernias and may require surgery. Abnormally large testicles are quite uncommon. Discuss with your pediatrician at the next visit.
Erections in infant males is common. Some infants don't have them very often.

just like grown men, all boys will have different sizes but if you think they may be a little too swollen for some reason than just ask a doc to see what he says. Chances are he is fine though. as for the erect penis, that should definately be asked of a doc. i don't think its normal but that doesnt necessarily mean something is wrong either.
