On my site we like to play What If..........Mostly it's hypothetical but this one has possibilities, not probablities but possibilites..........Ready???? - WHAT IF Joe Torre took the next year off and then decided he wanted to manage again...........An offer is made to him from the Boston Red Sox as Francona's extended contract is over at the end of 2008........Joe takes the offer...........How would Yankee fans, Red Sox fans and baseball fans in general feel about this???.........Do you think Torre would take the offer if it were made???...........Remember this is a What If........No real facts to it but it's something I've been thinking about.........CAT

I don't think he would take an offer to go to Boston unless he's really that pissed off with the Yankee ownership.

I would respect Torres decision to manage again and I would hope that the Yankees realize what type of a manager they screwed!!!
If the Red Sox made Torre an offer it would be a deal that he can not refuse...Money would not be an option....trust and commitment would be the important issues.....
IF the deal meets the needs of the Red Sox organization and the needs of Joe Torre I would expect him to take it....

I don't think he'd want to stir up that kind of animosity, so I think he'd turn it down cold. I think he'll go to the National League if he goes anywhere--the Mets being the obvious choice. My guess is that he won't manage again, but might take a front-office job somewhere.
By the way, he was a managerial failure before landing with the Yankees. I don't think it's a guarantee that he'd be successful managing a team that wasn't loaded with stars.

Well, I'm a Red Sox fan all the way...and we like Terry Francona...but if he stumbles next year, we'll see...*L*...If Francona suddenly bombs, and Torre is available, I think it would be poetic justice that Torre would go to the archrival...

That'd be a real scum bag move by him. Considering he's a New Yorker and a Yankee fan and knows the whole history with these 2 teams. He'd be the Johnny Damon of New York City. Well, the situations were different with Damon, but you catch my drift.

I dont think Torre would tolerate Manny. Not after 12 years in New York. It would be a mess from day 1.

I would really like to think he would turn it down, I cant imagine having to hate Joe Torre, but I don't think my heart is big enough to still love him if he were "sleeping with the enemy". I am glad this is "what if" because I don't want to see it happen! =( He can go back to the Mets, if they need someone. I don't really follow the National League, except for their untimely collapse!

Wii is extremely good, yet there are not many great video games on there. definite, I certainly have a PS3, my brother has an XBOX 360 and that i also have a Wii :). became extremely difficult to pick, hence I certainly have all 3 :D
