Liberal are in denial over the war on terror. They claim it doesn't exist.
Conservatives are in denial over the economy. They claim the country is in fine financial shape.
Will either side ever open their eyes on these two important issues?

lol
Leave it to a conservative to label me.
The fence feels just fine. It's the most reasonable place for objective people to be.

well... it is a probelm...

but, I'm also concerned about the fact that conservatives seem to want to go to war with all Muslims, while not focusing on the actual threats... I mean calling Iraq the main battleground in the war on terror?

at least Obama wants to confront terror at it's base...

this is where our current Republican led "war on terror" is...

after 6 years, we have the greatest threat to the U.S., "since the U.S. Civil War," according to the CIA cheif? Sounds like the war on terror is failing, as it's being waged so far...

and the economy clearly has some problems... I'VE NEVER in my life hear anyone try to "spin" a devalued dollar into a good thing? but Conservatives are trying... just because there are positives to a situation, it doesn't make it a "good thing"...

and low prime rates aren't good things Republicans... the Fed lowers rates to encourage spending... raise them to slow down a hot economy... you guys really do buy all the Fox News is selling, don't you?

those who walk in the middle of the road are destined to be ran over.

The economy is always on a tipping point. it goes up and down back and forth there is a pretty good reason for that, as most economists admit. there is no way of knowing why or how the ship that is the US economy does what it does. You tweak one thing and see what happens, then do it again. as the variables change doing the first thing that worked may not cause the same effect the next time. that being said I go by a pretty simple examination. is the debt interest rising faster or slower than GDP growth. if it is that means the country is getting wealthier and the debt burdon is getting less. This is how business works. Debt means nothing as long as you can sustain interest. I would rather my grandkids to have higher wealth and the same debt than a little less debt and a lot lower wealth if not worse being passed by another economy.

"War on Terror," "War on Drugs," "War on Poverty."

How can you have a "War" and use Wartime laws, breaking peacetime civil rights, like our right not to be spied on, without a clear government to take out, a clear end, a way to victory?

I don't think liberals are in denial about the so called "War on Terror." We just think the police can do what police do, and the army can do what the army does. Not vice versa.

Unemployment is lower than 35 of the last 38 years. The stock market is flourishing and the prime interest rate is at a near all-time low.

Taxes are down and revenue to the treasury is at an all-time high.

All this IN SPITE of the economic drag from illegal immigrants and war spending.

Where is our economy deteriorating?

i would agree with the second part of your statement, but i have never heard libs/Dem's say that terrorist do not exist.
the argument seems to be whether it should prosecuted though the courts(crime) or though military means(war).
libs/Dem's are trying to end this thing but the obstructionist con/Republicans are making sure that it will happen on the next presidents watch.
when that takes place watch as they label them as weak on defense, in spite of overwhelming support form all corners to stop the war.

The fence is fine for some but if you stand for nothing you'll fall for anything.

How does that fence feel?

Most of us (speaking for conservatives) acknowledge the fact that both are serious issues.

Within the Democratic party, which is comprised of a MAJORITY of Americans, there are Liberals, Moderates, Progressives, Bluedog-Conservatives and everything in-between. Ergo, when you address your poorly spelled and erroneously punctuated question solely to Liberals, any possible response you might receive would be rather skewed should only Liberals reply. As to corrections, the "w" should be "W" for the first word of the question, and the word "there" should read "their" (as in showing ownership). The proper name of Obama (our democratically-elected President Obama) should be capitalized, and either the question mark is placed too soon after your "obama [sic]?" or the word "or" is superfluous. If the "or" is removed, then the "a" on "are" should be capitalized since it would be the first word of a follow-up question and if I were your English teacher, I would suggest a repeat of the word "Liberals" instead of a vague "they" and "going to" rather than the slang of "gonna". The term "dickriding" should be separated with a hyphen, as in "dick-riding" and the vague "him" should be a repeat of "President Obama" (again, using capital letters for a proper name and title). You have assumed facts not in evidence on several levels within this question. I am a moderate-to-liberal Democrat who is college-educated, a military veteran from the Vietnam War era, and someone who has been involved in or cognizant of politics since Eisenhauer days. I watched the destruction under Reagan/Bush and Bush/Quayle with their failed policies (Bartlett & Steele, 1991)---policies that wreaked havoc upon working Americans nationwide, lost us our manufacturing base through outsourcing, and led to the COLLAPSE of our financial institutions, the savings and loan industry (seem familiar anyone?). One might be moved to ask if right-wing Republicans are ever going to "open their eyes" to the fact that their "deregulation (a.k.a., "smaller government" con), tax cuts for the rich (con), outsourcing of all our jobs, and "trickle-down" supply-side economics FAIL every single time Republican administrations try to foist them off on an under-informed populace. Read whitehouse.gov in its entirety and then see if your eyes are not more open to this amazing man we chose to lead us out of the CON-JOB destruction of the GOP and back to strength, prosperity, and world-wide respect. If not, then you might want to remove the white hood and/or cut those eyeslits wider so that your perspective is unencumbered.

Both sides are populated by idiots. I come in here mainly for a laugh at the crazy things that libs and cons say about each other.
