Do you know anyone famous?

Yeah. I know Carlos Santana. Met him 27 years ago at an outdoor concert. Didn't know it was him at the time, was standing outside the chain link fence near the stage, and this guy was eating a plate of barbeque and I was soooo hungry. I guess I was kind of staring at his plate, lol. He came up and asked me if I wanted some, and I said Sure! And so he held up the plate to the fence and I reached through and ate some, and we talked for a short time, until he said he had to get going. So I said ok, he walked away, and I turned around to go, and there were my friends standing there with their mouths hanging open. I said "whats wrong?!?" They said "Do you know who that WAS??" I said "no, who?" They said "That was Carlos Santana himself!!" I said "no way, you're kidding!!"

Anyway, it was him. The next year, he came around again to do a concert, and I was once again unable to afford a ticket and was standing near the fence by the stage so I could at least listen, just like last time, and here he comes again. Said Hey! I remember you, we ate barbeque last year, do you remember? I said Yep, I do, how are you? He said Busy. And we talked from there.

Every year after that, when he came to town, I would go to the same place, and he would come over to talk to me for a bit. This happened until I moved away from that city several years ago, but then I ran into him at another concert he was giving in another state, so we started talking again.

Now it's been 27 years, we still talk and stay in touch, he's invited me to his house, his wife is beautiful and they are such awesomely nice people.

Strange how life works out sometimes, isn't it.

Yeah my 3rd cousin use to be on the charts in country music.. A few years ago.. and she also sung in my wedding before she got famous. She was voted new comer of the year.

ive met a lotta famous ppl but i wouldnt say i know them like there not my friends or anything. my mother is a set designer. she works in movies and tv. ive answered the phone when i was a kid and had it be like robin williams or liam neeson or marty scorcese or somebody like that a bunch of times before. i told harvey keitel one time that my mom was takin a dump so she couldnt come to the phone. she was standing right there and she flipped out bc shes in love w/ him. anyway i think there just normal ppl who got a one in a million chance to be famous. i dont think they need to be worshipped or whatever. some of them are @ssholes and some of them are alright just like anybody else.

I know Bob Cade, the guy who invented Gatorade.
He used to date my mom when they were students at U.T.
He was crazy.
He'd keep snakes in the bathtub at his dorm.
Once he waded into the biology fishpond to pick some water lilies for my mom.
She died last year at the age of 80, and he is helping to fund a endowment at U.T. that she had been wanting to establish.

I am technically related to a child star. I never did get to know him, as a result of his untimely death.
Of all people, Alfalfa, from the famed LIL RASCALS was a nephew of my Grandmother., Dad's cousin, so makes him my second cousin.
He was born and raised where my dad's family is from, Paris, Illinois. His real name was Carl Switzer.

There is one I would like to know, hehehe, but I think his wife would get pist ;-) Plus, I would probably get busted for stalking before I even got near him LOL!!!...oh, well...in my dreams he will stay :-D
