my sister is supposed to have a scheduled c-section in 2 weeks because the baby is breached. We've been talking about how weird it is to have a baby without having to go through labour and all that excitement (and pain). By excitement, I mean the moment your water breaks, the rush to the hospital, the contractions, the pushing ect. Do any of you feel "cheated" out of the childbirth experience?

I have had two scheduled Cesereans. the first was exciting and wonderful despite being scheduled. This time around however, I requested a mirror to be able to view the birth (not the surgery) and a few other small requests that were all denied by my DR. So yes, this time, the last time, I feel very cheated. I feel like its not my experience at all, that it is completely in control of my doctor. But none the less, I will have a beautiful healthy baby to add to our family, so its not all bad!

I did with my first child. She was 10 days over due, so they induced and I still wouldn't dilate. After 8-9 hours on Pitocin with no progrees, I had a c-section. It was weird, but while I felt like she was MY baby, I also at the same time felt like I hadn't had her. I know that sounds weird and stupid, but it was odd. I did feel cheated out of the childbirth experience.

Had my other 2 children via c-section, and those 2 were scheduled sections. Since I knew what to expect I didn't feel cheated because I focused on the arrival of the children, whereas with my first I had focused on the actual labor and delivery for so long.

The ultimate goal is to deliver a healthy baby in the manner safest for mom, so don't worry too much about it. :-)

No, I just felt blessed that baby and I were alive and well enough to tell the tale.
Having a c-sec isn't about being 'cheated' out of labour..it is done for a reason.
My first c-sec was an emergency and I'd not like to go through that EVER again.
An elective c- sec is much nicer.
I've never given birth 'naturally' and I don't feel like I've missed out in any way shape or form.
My 3rd will be born in 4 weeks by elective c-sec and I can't wait!!!

Delivered my first vaginally, had a c-section with my second, she was breach...a stubborn little thing that turned feet down and stayed there..she liked it that way. I was in labor for over 36 hours the first time, so honestly, I was excited knowing that wasn't going to happen the second time around. But at the end of it all, you have a most precious gift, so I am not sure it matters how it comes about.

No. My second was scheduled, I did go into labor with my first and had to have an emergency C. I didn't miss it the second time. It turns out, when I showed up for the operation, I had just started the inital stages of labor anyway. I was just glad my girl was ready when I was.

What I'll guarantee you is that her baby will be so wonderful and so all-consuming that any regret she feels of not going through labor will disappear very quickly.

I had my 1st by emergency c-sction. I was totally asleep, and I really feel it made my son and I have an even stronger bond than what we may have had if it wasn't as terrifying as it was. He's 3 1/2 now and I 'm 33 weeks with another boy. Scheduled c-section for November 30, yay!

I've had both natural and c-section and yes if i had a chose i would rather have one natural the excitement is so awesome and with a natural you can be involved a lot more with a c-section you have to take it easy and you have to wait an hour or two before you can even hold the baby...it dose suck but trust me after he/she gets here and you get hold them it's not going to matter which way you have it...plus if she has another child later she can always try it natural than...

maximum OB's won't time table a C-section purely by way of fact a female asks for it. many times, there ought to be a medical reason for the c-section. many times if a female has had a prior c-section, she would be in a position to time table yet another one throughout her next being pregnant. I had to time table a c-section very previous due in my being pregnant by way of my toddler's length and he grew to become into feet first. i be attentive to some women people % c-sections by way of fact it relatively is greater handy.

no. i don't feel cheated at all. i had mild labor with my first child for 13 hours and then had a c-section. it doens't matter the mode of delivery as long as the baby comes out happy and healthy as does the mom.
