It sounds as if you have cervical stenosis, which put simply is a constriction or narrowing of the cervical canal leading to your uterus. This can make pregnancy less likely as sperm are unable to navigate the cervix for conception to occur. If you keep the appointment she will probably wish to re-examine you and discuss treatment options such as cervical dilation, if you wish to become preganant now or later. If you do not want a baby, use birth control as pregnancy could still occur. I hope this is useful . Good luck!

ROFLMAO....this sounds so typical....sorry...I am amazed how many people get out of the doctors office with more questions than they came with.!!!!!!!
If your cervix is not open that could mean a couple of things:
1. she did not look well enough to see the cervical os (opening)
2. there may have been a mucous plug blocking the os
3. she may have meant that you have no previous pregnancies (which tend to stretch the os)
If you are not trying to get pregnant and your pap smear comes back normal, see her next year.
4. call her up and ask her what she was talking about. It is not unusual to feel confused after seeing a doctor. We each have a responsibility to ask for explanations in terms we can understand. If we dont ask, they think we understand what they are saying. Good luck

This makes no sense. If you still have periods your cervix is open to your uterus releasing the menstruation blood each month. Get a second opinion. See a reproductive endocrinologist specializing in infertility.
