Hi everyone. My parents are about to add a line to our existing AT&T service. I'm finally going to get a cell phone and I went to AT&T's website. It's offering a free Samsung Sync if we add another line. The problem is, I'd rather have the Sony Ericsson W580i, but they're only offering the Ericsson with a NEW 2 year contract :(

1. Do you think they will discount the price for me?
2. Are there any other nice phones out there that I can get for AT&T? Preferably free (with contract) or costing around $50 (with contract)

There are several phones for you to choose from. Your best bet for the cheapest pricing is to add a line online, or go to an ATT corporate store to add the additional line. You dont have to take the Sync if you dont want that phone, it's only a promotion. You can get any phone offered by ATT at the 2 year price when you add a line. When you add a line, you will most likely be on contract, unless you choose to do one year contract, which will still have discount pricing, or you may choose no contract, in that case you will pay retail price for the phone. That goes with the Sync as well. it's free with 2 year contract, but if you choose 1 year contract or no contract, you will get the pricing to go with your choice. Most likely you will not get a discount for no reason, thats against policy. Good Luck and happy shopping, ATT has some good phones!

I believe you have to take the one they are offering. If they would substitute it for a cheaper one you probably wouldnt want to do that.
