"Abuse", in most people's eyes, is defined by who is swinging the club. I'm certain that 90% of America would do an abrupt about face on the matter because it would be Hillary doing the swinging. Republicans would be decrying the horror, liberals would be dancing in the streets. And while I don't think Hillary has a snowball's chance in hell of being elected, the very idea of that harpy wielding the powers of the "Patriot" Act make me shudder with horror. I think your example could be better though. The biggest problem with gun owners is that they're gun owners. A handful of armed nutjobs with rifles held off the BATF and FBI at Waco for almost two months. An armed men and his family held off hundreds of federal marshals and FBI for 10 days at Ruby Ridge. A bunch of armed nutjobs held off the marshals for 81 days in Montana (the Freemen). Try to take EVERYBODY'S guns and you're going to have revolution on your hands. Especially if you're Hillary. If she tried to make a gun grab she'd have to do it in one fell swoop. And that would require the military. And having served, having had tons of friends and family serve, I can honestly say that I have NEVER found a soldier, sailor, airman, or marine with a SINGLE nice thing to say about Hillary. Not one. If Hillary tried I seriously think we would have the first military coup in our history. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe Americans have become too soft and too complacent. But I think a lot of Bush's actions have people thinking about liberty a lot more than they used to. And I think Hillary would break the camel's back without even half trying. And be surprised when it happened.

No. I ought to describe why: The President has no legislative potential in any appreciate. The Patriot Act is now the regulation and the President won't be able to enact, amend, droop, overturn or substitute any regulation. Congress is the only legislative potential on the federal point. purely the courts (the U. S. ultimate court docket) can interpret the Constitutionality of a regulation or be sure if it violates human rights in a dispute between the administrative and Legislative branch. So... ...if the President believes that "element of" or "all of" the Patriot Act is unconstitutional (regardless of reason) or violates human rights, the President ought to the two project it in the previous Courts or convince Congress to overturn or amend the regulation.

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), passed in 1978 after revelations of domestic surveillance abuses during the Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon administrations, designated a secret court to approve warrants for domestic surveillance. Since 9/11, however, there's been criticism that FISA is not flexible enough to keep up with the terrorism threat. Some experts from FRONTLINE's report weigh in on the debate.

Not because you don't make a good point: bullies who want to grab power so they can push others around never stop to think what will happen when the shoe is on the other foot--as it always is, sooner or later.
But our system of Constitutional law and freedom works pretty well, in the long run. And real Americans are going to focus on repairing the damage that's been done--that's more important than "getting even." The cons won't have to take the full consequences of their betrayal of our values and institutions.
Unfortunately.

Yes because we will not elect the rookie Sinator . Once she passes the Primary expect a slew of convictions pertaining to campaign fund violations will derail the Clinton Machine.
Then, as he has already stated "if", Al Gore will step in and fill her shoes if/when she is removed.
Now if only you understood the idea behind the Patriot act in legal terms. The difference between the revolving door setting criminals/terrorists free vs jail for treasonous crimes.
AND you thought this stuff never happened before...lol where y'all been? Look up Hoover for one. Thanks.

Hillary will NOT be president but by all means hold your breath, It's fun to watch you turn blue then pass out while waiting for something that isn't going to happen. Even a great number of democrats see right through her lies and BS.

Not to worry! Too many people are too intelligent to let Hitlery become the president. The Patriot Act BTW is not used without justifiable cause. When used it must be sanctioned. Does anyone really feel threatened by it?

The patriot act, will probably be gone if she is elected. Dictators do not play by the rules, that were there before they take over. Communist.
