This may seem simple, but if nobody wants to buy it you will not be able to sell it. I wouldn't waste my time with it.

Use humor and change the name of it.
I had a bunch of smaller size cat toys, which looked whimpy next to the larger sizes in my display. I eventually pulled out all the small ones and put them together on a flat display with the sign 'Kitten Sized Toys'. All of a sudden they were in demand and the entire batch of 40 or so were sold out in only a few hours at an event I was at. By renaming them, they completely changed the perception. They weren't whimpy tiny ones anymore, they had a special purpose--as kitten toys.
Sometimes all it takes is a look with new eyes, and an item that's been sitting there takes off. I've had it happen three times, and each time it surprises me.

Determine "why" noone wants to buy it..is it too pricey, in an ugly package, or is it just a really crappy product?
If the product can be improved in anyway, the next step is "show and tell"...if the RONCO FLOWBEE can sell...anything can sell.

Research "Supple and Demand" and "market equilibrium" This will answer your question, and I'm assuming you will come to the conclusion that aside from creating a faux need, you will have to reduce your price. It's the worlds way of preventing products from being produced that no one wants.
