Last Tuesday I started taking the birth control pill yasmin...in the instruction booklet it tells you to use backup for 7 days after you take it (if you take it on the sunday after your period) well i started taking it the tuesday after my period, i've been on it now for 10 days and i was wondering if it was ok to quit using condoms now, does anyone have any information?

it should be safe. A lot of people do wait longer than that though, simply because it gives them peace of mind. Two weeks sounds good to me

you're good to go. ten days is the general time when you need to use another back up method. I've tried several birth control pills, one being almost identical to yasmin, and they all had a ten day period where you needed to use another form of birth control. have fun!

I would be a little more cautious and keep using a condom. When I changed my BC, my doctor advised me to use a backup for the first month to ensure my body adjusted to the new medication. I would recommend calling the doctor who prescribed it or the pharmacist who filled the RX.
