Homecoming Garters-- I have a date from a different school, which colours should I make it?

My boyfriend, who goes to a different high school than I do, is coming to my school's homecoming as my date. If I make him a garter, would it be appropriate to make it with his school's colours or mine?

Since it's a gift from you, it should be your colors. It will be his souvenir of your homecoming.

Since its your homecoming, the colors should be of your school, it doesnt make sense for him to wear a different school's colors to your homecoming. when/if u go to his homecoming, then the colors would be of his school.
