So, why do you want birth control? To regulate periods, or to help have safe sex?

Unless you have it somewhere besides your house, your parents will find it.

Why not talk to your parents first?

Complain that your periods are irregular, that you have horrible long periods that have painful cramps, and suggest you both see a doctor about getting on birth control.

And I would NOT suggest the shot (its actually taken every twelve weeks, not months like one answerer stated) because it is horrible to many womens bodies.

One problem with hiding your bc is that it makes it much easier to forget. Since you need to take it at about the same time every day, figure out a way to associate the pill with something you are sure you will never forget.

For instance, if you put on makeup every morning, get a new little makeup bag, hide your pills in it a side pocket, and put your mascara where the pills are. That way, you will bump into them every day when you have to open that pocket for your mascara. Keep the makeup bag in your room instead of in a shared bathroom. Or even in your purse.

NuvaRing is a vaginal ring birth control. So basically, the birth control is inside you and you don't take a pill every day. That way there is no way your parents can find it. You can get it right from the pharmacy and put it in.

First are you under 18...If yes, then you need to just keep those pills out of the house..maybe in a locker, or somewhere that if they are lost, you or no one else will re'find them. Initially i would have to say out of the house....That will raise so many questions. Just understand that if you take them, it takes longer to get off of them...They stay in your system for a while...so maybe try a shot.. Some shots cover 6 months rather than taking a pill everyday.

Put it in a place you think your parents will not look. Don't put it in your clothes as your mum might just do your washing. However, if she did find out, do you think she will be angry. I think it is very responsible of you to think about a birth control.

I'd have to agree with Terri - COMPLETELY!

BCPs also help reduce acne as one of the GOOD side effects.
