It is a little worn, but I have been holding onto it for years. It was my grandmas year she was born...so she gave it to me. Do you think it is worth money? How do I find out?

Is it American or Canadian?
I have coin price guide. Now the book is a 2004 guide, but prices usually stay around the same level. After about 10 years there is usually an established price in the market. The values listed are what most coin dealers would be willing to pay if the coin is in at least very good condition.
The 1935 American quarter: There could be a small "S" or "D", which should be located below the branch on the eagle side, and above the letters "er" in quarter. Both the "S" and "D" had around 5.7 million minted, and a coin without either letter had a mint run of 32.4 million. So, the "S" and "D" ones are rarer, but all 3 still book at the same value: $1.00
The 1935 Canadian quarter: About 537,000 made, book value rates at: $1.50
It may be worth a bit more to someone looking for that year, maybe up to 4 times that price.

There would a lot more personal value in that coin for you, so I'd just keep holding onto it if I were in the same spot.

Check out the price of silver in any newspapers financial section. Take the price per ounce and divide by four. Add maybe a dollar for historical value and voila. That's what it's worth. Probably a couple of dollars. You could get a coin black book and look up the particular date and mint mark to get a better pricing. Sometimes particular years and markings are rare and worth a lot more. Most like likely its worth most to you as a memento of your grandma.

George is correct, but they usually tarnish the silver. You could make hundreds from selling it as a antique. (You could sell it to Smithsonian.)

it might be worth a couple of bucks. and the only reason its worth that much is because it is made almost entirely of silver.

You can go on Ebay and look to see what people are selling them for.
