No.
Look at what's left of "communism" - Cuba and North Korea.
I wouldn't call them a success.
Also, China may call themselves communist, but they are far from it.
Edit:
Michael G.
How is China Communist? In communism there is no private ownership. How do you explain Hunwai, Lenovo, etc. All "public" Chinese companies owned by individuals. China may call themselves communist, but they are NOT following communism.

Some argue that it is working for Cuba, and the fact that they remain, although suppressed, is somewhat remarkable. Stalin is not communism, nor are the other bad leaders. Do not associate communism with bad leaders that oppress their populations, although as those positions of power typically either attract that type, or give way for people to become like that, communism seems like a trap waiting for a situation like that to develop.
Another reason communism worldwide ends up an abject failure is simply because many countries isolate communist regimes until they are incapable of supporting themselves. It's a potentially dangerous form of government that can easily turn into a dictatorship or render the population at large incapable of caring for their well being.

Heaven is the only successful form of communism and heaven doesn't exist, so no. The reason communism never worked is because it denies the reality of human nature. The desire of all humankind is to outdo their friends and neighbors and to have chioldren that outdo other children. Try as you might to pretend this isn't true, it is. Capitalism is a greed based system, but we are a greed based species. We are 1/4 of a chromosome from chimpanzees and our religion and politics are exactly what you would expect from such a species.

It's never been successful and never will be. It tries to divide the pie among society fairly, taking for granted the very existence of the pie. Under communism, the pie wouldn't be invented, nor the tools to create it. Nobody has the capital to build prototypes, begin production, etc. If you approach the govt. with the idea of mass producing a food type called a "pie", they'd call you a capitalist pig and jail you.

communism is a stage where there would not be any private ownership and the means of production is owned by the labors. just like everything else our society evolves from one stage to another. as we evolve, our society will change accordingly it can be a goal for some societies but it hasn't happened yet. peace

Like everything success is measured differently by everyone, but I think it's safe to say it never works out for the people. For the leaders however it works great until the system collapses. If the leader is lucky he'll die, and have his statues up before that happens.

i think of which you're misinformed approximately communism. there are a number of communist societies that are no longer governments. maximum of those are non secular societies, Christian and different. Atheist communism is misguided because of the fact it denies the existence of God, it forcibly deprives human beings of their sources rights, and many different human rights.

China is communist, but since they are a success story we say 'they are not really communist' Just goes to show you how well a communist country can do if the US does not put an embargo on them.
Its just like the US does not fit the textbook example of Democratic country, but we still call ourself s democratic.

Communism and socialism fail when and where they are tried. The keys to success lie in individual opportunity.

I'm not a fan of communism, first of all. But has it been done successfully? Ask Castro, I bet he'd answer in the affirmative. China hasn't fallen into ruin by using it either.
