Absolutely. This could backfire spectacularly for him if there is any hint of a cover up and the stench is getting stronger by the day. People need to ask some serious questions regarding the McCann/Brown connection and keep asking them over and over again until some real answers are provided. The media has been gagged. The way that this whole thing has been reported is appalling. So biased towards the McCanns. They don't even try to hide it. I think McBrown has already secured an "inconclusive evidence" verdict with the Portuguese PM but I hope that I am wrong.

Gordon Brown isn't top Minister. There, i've got stated it! he's basically too Scottish and has been responsible for the shambles of recent Labour basically as much as a million/2 wit Tony. Now Tony Blair is speaking approximately New New Labour. they're going to quickly be measuring him up for a jacket with effective polished buckles down the decrease back! If the SNP earnings independence in Scotland, can we, the English, desire to be ruled by potential of a Scotsman who made particular his babies have been born north of the border. That one action on my own shows a contempt for England. No, New Labour is a busted flush. David Cameron is basically too wishy washy and insipid. The Libdems tell too many porkies. Who else is there?. that's basically too depressing.

He's risking their election prospects anyway by reneging on Labour's promise to hold a referendum on the EU constitution and selling us out to Brussels.
I must say, though, that I'd like to hear more about the Brown/McCann/Nuclear Power connection.

I am amazed the the Scots have since the 17th Century wanted independence and their own parliament. Why doesnt Gordon Brown buggar off to his own parliament and leave England to the English???
As Scotland has a different legal system there be a reason he is giving support in a foreign country (England).

Naughty Theo - only one of the McCanns is Scottish, the other is English. So you could just as easily have asked "What's more important, an English blonde or Great Britain". And there's gotta be a joke in there somewhere. LOL

INTEL: Noooooooo, please don't send him back! We don't want him here!

I believe that the majority of the population, unlike you, are familiar enough with concepts such as justice, "innocent until proven guilty" so that he is not risking his election prospects by raising the case of Madeleine McCann with the Portuguese.

It is in everyone's interest - including Robert Murat's, for example - that the investigation is conducted as thoroughly and as fairly as is possible so that it has the best possible chance of finding the real perpetrator, whoever that is and has the best possible chance of finding Madeleine. Questions have been raised over this making it a reasonable subject for him to bring up in diplomatic circles.

He might be damaging his electoral prospects over a variety of things but this is not one of them.

I have never voted Labour but just perhaps I will. Maybe he is a man of integrity, who is also a father. Perhaps he is fair minded and has a level of empathy that some of the people on this site do not.

Browne is not risking anything as he will not be back in office after this term and he is a politician so he will not be getting involved as they all ways look out for them selves

Perhaps he thinks some of 'The Fund' may be making a donation to the labour parties fighting fund?
