i hope it's ok if they are short...
1. the cars met at the intersection of 5th and Main streets.
2. the author gave a very lengthy prologue in the front of his new book.
3. i have a monogram of my initials on my shirt.
4. United States is a subcontinent of North America. (not sure on that one)
5. my automobile uses a lot of gas.
6. you can extinguish a match by blowing it out.
7. the gaurd had to transport the prisoner to another state.
8. if i don't do my own homework, the alternative is to get someone else to do it for me.

The car ignoring the red light crashed in the intersection.

Without reading the prologue you would have had no idea how exciting the book would start out.
