Thank you Harry. That's what I wanted to say.
Your level of IQ has nothing to do with whether you're stupid or not. Someone may be born with a very low IQ.
But stupid ppl are those who don't see how precious that chld or adult with low IQ is, and make life harder for them by being cruel.

'Stupid' is chosen. Not born.
And by the way, everyone who doesn't agree with you, is not stupid. :)

To believe other people are stupid is to have judged them as if you had been them and would have made choices they did not as them... I think people who make the claim that stupid people exist on the basis that they would have done something better then that person if they were them are actualy the ignorant persons. Basicaly you can choose to see the world as stupid, smart, or shades of intelligence. If you chose to see the world as stupid id say your head hangs high. If you chose to see the world as shades of gray to me it seems like saying some are below me while others are above and yet some equal with me. In a sense your basicaly saying only some are created equal the rest either out class or under cut the norm. If you say all are smart I think this is the way to go. But you'd better have a pretty good reason for saying everyones smart if your gona make this claim. Something like everyone is smart because everyone trys there best untill they die might work.

Most people go to a great deal of trouble to supress their
intelligence. Genetics has a lot to do with it....hard work
and determination make up the other half of brilliance.
Stupidity is easier for most people..that way nobody expects
anything out of you. Not having anyone around that appreciates your ahievements can lead to self imposed
"stupidity". Unfortunately, people today are taught how
to react to input, not develope the input themselves.
There are also people that are very smart at one thing
only....or very stupid at one thing only. It's a mixed bag.
It doesn't just happen. Stupidity is a learned behavior.

Executives under stress were shown by an English university to lose 10 IQ points during that period.

Students mislabeled "bright" or "dull" are taught by teachers to that stereotype, and their grades reflect that.

There are many types of intelligence--social, spatial, verbal, mathematic, kinetic, etc.

Born "stupid" is a relative term, also; compared to what?

Would suggest Martha Beck's "Expecting Adam" which is a true story of her decision to give birth to her unborn baby, even though she was in the middle of a Ph.D. program at Harvard in feminist studies. It is warm, funny, and excellent. It talks about her son, Adam, and how intelligent he is in some ways, and how "dull" he is in some others. You can tell she really loves him, and he loves her.

Energy is God ("I Am the Light of the world"), and Plotinus had a good explanation of density/stupidity: when a soul turns from God, or misqualifies God's Energy, that energy is veiled, distorted, etc. It forms a veil of error. Energy-veiling = e-veiling = eviling.

Modern scientists like Dr. William Tiller, of Stanford, have demonstrated humans have psi or mind-over-matter capabilities (what prayer is based on, in part). "Psychoenergetic Science" is his latest record of his discoveries. Http://www.tiller.org is his website. Http://www.divinecosmos.com is a more layperson-friendly site; its owner, David Wilcock, was the subject of a biolgraphy, "The Reincarnation of Edgar Cayce?", Free and Wilcock. It is worth reading in that his "personal stupidity" this life relates to his past life as Edgar Cayce, a famous American seer of the early 20th century.

Thus, prayer and contemplation can actually increase in-telling, or intelligence; Olga Kharitidi, a psychiatrist, writes of this in her "Entering the Circle" and "The Master of Lucid Dreams." Dr. Elizabeth Mayer, a U. C. Berkeley clinical psychology professor, wrote "Extraordinary Knowing," as she came to understand how a dowser across country located her daughter's stolen harp. Great book.

"LIght Is a Living Spirit," Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov, "Watch Your Dreams," Ann Ree Colton, and "Climb the Highest Mountain," Mark L. Prophet, all contain ways to reduce stupidity of many kinds, and develop better intelligence.

kind regards,

j.

There are som unfortunate cases in which people are born with true, physical deficiencies. And some people for reasons both biological and environmental are not as sharp at reasoning as others are.
But, for the most part, most people are just too damned -lazy- to bother to learn how to think.

It has genetic and environmental aspects. There are people who have mental disorders but I don't think that's the type of "stupidity" you were referring to.

you may be born with a lower capacity for learning. there are learning disabilities, and even retardation. in terms of ignorance, that is different than stupidity. it is chosen, i think.

if a stupid person admits to be stupid, he's no longer stupid.
that truth is no one is stupid, the only stupidity is choosing to stay ignorant.
