as you get older, do things change in a greater proportion or is it your own awareness of the world around you that makes it appear this way?

Hi!

Is it life that has ups and downs, or is it our response to life's situations? There is a whole wealth of personal development behind one persons ability to rise above adversities that those around them may feel overwhelmed by, but one simple kohan in the Judaic-Christian scriptures can be found in the book of Isaiah, chapter 40 verse 31.

To understand the significance of this kohan, or parable, observe the flight of eagles in storm conditions. Do they fly away from the storm, under the storm or try to get around it? No. They fly into the storm and when they do the thermals lift them up above the storm to a place of stillness.

Those who learn to face the issues that life throws at them discover that they too find a stillness even in adversity and an inner joy that can be mysterious to those who rely on chance for their good fortune and bemoan adversity as bad luck.

Good wishes.

Well thats interesting I havent really seen anyone represent lifes ups and downs as a spiral but I guess you could although it would probably look more confusing to most people that way so mby itll be the way I do it if I ever do next time lol...

As for do the ups and downs get longer or shorter as you get older... I would say your ability to cope with the downs and keep the ups from hitting them does advance as you get older and wiser. But I would also say that the effect each up and down has on you like how much you cry ect gets effected also so Id say enjoy the ride while you're young because you might not feel it the same way when you're older at heart... Of course nobody wants to hear this when they are young at heart lol.

Greater proportion or awareness? I dont really think that this question seems to be that logical. Greater proportion could use some more explaning as to what you mean... If I had to guess id say it was in respect to events happening? In that case I would say it is learned how to avoid thouse events as you get older and thus your awareness would be effecting the proportion of events you have happen to you to some extent yes/no?

We often see how roads are paved upon surfaces that are not always even and soft enough to work on. Then there are not always solid stretches of land, for there often are ravines, rifts, gullies, gorges, rivers and canyons along the way, in which case, we defy the reason of solid grounds under our feet ... we build bridges, bridges that would last far as long as the rest of the stretch of the path on solid ground.

Then we often come across mountains that sometimes we go round, sometimes we go over, while some other times we tunnel through them to see the light of the day on the side. In general it is a harmonious and most economical compromise between a landscape and human purpose that in the end gives us a useful road or a pathway across an otherwise difficult and impossible terrain.

Life is more like a road that we build as we travel for it, for there is no other way to have it done for you. Life to me is after a certain age starts to look like a trek across a mountain range. You rise to the peak, endure all the hardships of unpredictable ascent to the top with all the enthusiasm and vigour of an explorer and then you start on descent that is also as hard as the climb was plus the sense that the peak of the excitement is over. But we remember the entire experience by our few moments at the top, and these few moments are not always bound to our physical age; such moments can come any time. It is more like a soccer match where only final score counts, however, the peak moments, when the wining goals were posted could come any time in the entire duration of a game.

In order to see like in form of a spiral one need to see with an eye closer to the eyes of God, as there, seemingly or at least to the eyes of an inept observer, is no definable pattern so far visible in the grand scheme of things; we just have to maintain our faith that there is one and that our effort are taking us upward with every turn.

Adults have more responsibility and more to worry about! There is more to go wrong,. more at stake. Losing your job through redundancy has far more devastating consequences than a play ground "fight" where you fall out with your "best" friend for a day!

The older you get, the more you realise how little you KNOW and how little you can actually DO anything about! The world can seem very negative, depressing and despairing at times. You just aren't aware of that when you are young. The world as a kid evolves around YOU and what YOU want. All you care about is meeting your own needs! As you age, expectations chance, experience shapes you as you go along. Bad things happen and you realise there isn't much you can do about it.

As you get older, you become more experienced. Young people have a tendency to see everything as drama. In a very real way, this is the strength of youth. Youth finds it easier to get involved and to strive for what it wants, and what it believes in.
On the other hand, youth will tend to expend a lot of energy on things that are not half as important as they seem to be at the time. This is where a more experienced person knows there is nothing to fret about and that things will settle on their own.
I suppose the trick to aging gracefully is to not lose sight of these passions and dreams that are truly important, while learning to let go of those that aren't. And wisdom would then be the secret of telling the difference.

The pattern isn't rhythmic at all. It does vary from person to person, but some changes are based upon awareness, and some are just bigger. So the answer to all your questions, except the spiral, is yes. That's to say the reasons and patterns are so varied, there is no answer beyond the fact that that's just how life is.

Life is like a spiral when you let it effect your outlook. The more good that happens makes you happy, and you keep sliding up; the more bad that happens makes you sad and the faster you slide south. Ups and downs are for those with a constant outlook on life. So I guess my answer is - depends on your outlook!

life has peaks and troughs, but I find age just makes them less steep, as my ability to know what will happen has a better database behind it, and I am less shocked by what I see. However, I dare say, if something truly upturning hit me, I would be less likely to be able to bounce back now, having endured so many roller-coaster bumps.

Why could I be upset? Michael Jackson grew to become right into a grasp entertainer and a superb humanitarian, yet he grew to become into nonetheless a man or woman and people are not appropriate. Michael had some themes and issues in his very own life, purely like maximum people do. no person has the perfect life. And he chosen to handle the themes with drug utilization. regrettably, it relatively is no longer uncommon. constructive, shall we argue the undeniable fact that he ought to have universal greater appropriate or performed greater appropriate for the sake of his childrens, yet who're we to decide the life of a guy we did no longer relatively be attentive to. i'm a fan and that i comprehend that Michael had greater complicated themes than i visit ever be attentive to and/or comprehend. It grew to become into deep. i could no longer start to think of the internal turmoil that grew to become into raging interior Michael and no remember what number albums i purchase, books i study, movies i watch or posters i positioned up, i'm going to in no way comprehend what grew to become into occurring interior Michael, the guy.each and every person has their very very own unique snapping factor, the factor the place one won't be able to take anymore and could seek for different pointers on a thank you to common the soreness or to offer them an further develop. some people can take greater soreness and abuse than others, some won't be able to. So, i won't be able to say something like, " he ought to've been greater useful" by way of fact i don't be attentive to each little thing that he's been via and apart from, i don't be attentive to what his snapping factor grew to become into. It would not be a ways to place Michael in this pedestal like he's a few god, by way of fact he wasn't. i'm constructive that it grew to become into puzzling for him to handle constantly attempting to be appropriate considering the undeniable fact that's what the traditional public concept he grew to become into or ought to be. So, no, i'm no longer upset at Michael in any respect by way of fact issues could have fallen aside on the top, yet his life wasn't in ineffective. That plenty is real.

If it wasn't for lifes downs how would we appreciate the ups fully? Just as I always say if it wasn't for the rain we wouldn't appreciate the sun! The ups and downs of life makes us who we are builds our character and strengthens us. But thats just my opinion.
