Canada has even stricter requirements than the US. They will turn you around at the border for some misdemeanor convictions.

The government might let you but almost everywhere in Canada has criminal record checks done on employees now, so getting a job would probably be a problem.

if you have a criminal record you will not be allowed in Canada.
