So why do you need permission from anyone, much less the internet world? What does his sexual orientation have to do with being friends and having a good time together? Look at your priorities, and move your friends up a few notches above what you worry about other people thinking. Sounds like you are afraid of getting labeled because of his label, and that is not important at all. Friendship is important.

Oh yes, I am straight, but nights out with gay friends are some of the best nights out I have ever had, gay folk tend to be a little less inhibited and let their hair down, they can also spot a 'straight' person a mile away, so just because your having a good time, there is no assumption that you are gay.

Ummm... If you don't, how do you stay friends? I just probably wouldn't be expecting to invite him in after the date ;)

Is it 'ok'? Ok with who?? Is it ok with YOU? If so, then why ask US?
P.S. It's 'hey', not 'hay'. 'Hay' is what they put into bales and store in barns.
