Yes, I would, let's say out society is a polygamist society; meaning more than one wife is allowed. It sure in the hell would save on the cheating make everything legal and above board; meaning they would have to get blood tests so that I know I won't be hitching on no disease.. It wouldn't be easy; meaning that it's not something that you dance around for joy at. It can be degrading as a matter-of-fact when handled in the wrong fashion. I have seen this sort of thing happen in two fashions. One told his wife he wanted another wife, she told him to let her choose the wife, she picked her cousin and I believe their all still married. I have seen them not tell their wives bring the other wife home and say meet my new wife. Neither of them kept their wives in the same house.

I've often thought that it is almost some kind of cosmic joke, that women and men should live together - as we are different in so very many different ways. I am a woman who loves the company of other women...bright, funny, interesting women. So the idea of having one or more living in the house with me is kind of appealing. We would have lots more in common than my husband and I have....and certainly, it would give him a break when I feel the need to 'chat'.

But to share my husband with them is a completely different matter. I have no interest in entering into a relationship in which we would all share the marital bed with one man...just wouldn't work for me!

I wouldn't personally. One of the biggest problems in such a family is the constant jealousy between the women. People think that the women in those families are lovey-dovey and get along famously but very often, they have no say if their husbands want to marry someone else and they have no choice in which woman he wants to marry. Basically, they have to put up or shut up.

can the wives share each other too? This life style has been around far longer than the laws that prohibit it, then again so has eating dogs and cats. As someone else mentioned, women can be very catty and jealous towards one another when one gets something the other covets, a man, a purse, a house, hell anything for that matter. No personally, I love my wife but she is all I care to attempt to handle, and she is a handfull all by herself.

Now as I mentioned before, 3 or 4 bi-sexual wives.....now that could at least be entertaining. I think they call the man who has that......Hugh Heffner

I think it's more natural than a couple. Just that society teaches otherwise.

Especially for those who complain about having and job and raising the kids. Well, what's wrong with some extra help?

Technically it only takes one man to keep many women pregnant in nature. Furthering the genes. Of course, there's a point of where it would get crazy.

I could definitely see a society functioning where men have 1 to 3 wives. Especially if they are extremely intelligent and encouraged to breed for the betterment of the species. It is totally possible for a group of people to love eachother as well as a couple does. You just have to think outside of the box that our society has already created. (Which I know most people aren't capable of... they're called sheep/sheeple)

-------
For Rainbow. On the other hand, it could be quite selfless. The way you are looking at it is directly from our society's point of view.

Sure if a man expects the women to simply take care of him and that's that. Yeah it's selfish. But if he's taking care of all of them just as much as each is caring for him, he's on triple duty.

Also, I'm comparing it to the nature of things. More than one man per woman is detrimental to the species, as we would breed much less. (that's the opposite of survival, humans would be dead and gone by now with that method)

Now, for the whole thing to work... I imagine there'd have to be a set of rules. Such as the first wife also has a say in who the second is. It would need to be a mutual caring relationship. Not just the man choosing everything. In the case of getting a second wife, there would be no less commitment or love for the first. It may be difficult to find someone so compatible for both, but in the cases that it happens - love and happiness would be grand amongst all involved.

As I've said before, men are designed to please women. Women are designed to be pleasing.

I wouldn't even take part in a monogamist family. I don't mind of polygamy is legalized, as long as everyone involved consents to the set-up and all the kids get equal amounts of support.

Heck no!

Polygamy skews the attention towards the one who has several spouses, usually the man. I think a healthy marriage would be one on one, because everyone deserves the full attention of their spouse. If he (or she) is busy with one of their other spouses, you are being neglected.

EDIT to B Dorian: Don't you think that having several wives would be selfish on your part? Marriage is the loving commitment of two people to each other. To make this same commitment to an additional woman would be to make a mockery of your commitment to the first wife.

How would you feel if your wife chose to have an additional husband?

I am interested all of these men thinking the poly part means many wives/one husband. But I thought about what it would be like to have two husbands! Paint Your Wagon is my favorite movie!

those women individuals are thoroughly controlled by potential of adult adult males and probable scared to loss of life of what's going to take place in the event that they communicate. Their husbands probable ordered them to no longer communicate and that they are knowledgeable that they could desire to place as much as their husbands to flow to heaven. while they do communicate a million/2 the time we pay attention approximately them chanced on overwhelmed on the edge of the line. they certainly tend to positioned on pioneer clothing and that i think of they sidestep makeup and plucking through fact they think of its ineffective, yet undecided on that one. We see this each and all the time in Utah, that's form of clean that Texas is ultimately doing something approximately it. Marrying teenager women to previous adult adult males is a life-style for plenty of polygamists. The previous adult adult males even do away with the best-looking youthful adult adult males through fact they're opposition and solid them out into the barren area. In Utah they're observed as the "lost boys".

No I wouldn't. If other people want to, fine. It's not my life, it's theirs. But I see too many problems with jealousy to see that lasting at all.
