If i have direct TV in one room can I buy another box and hook it up in another room without additional cost?

Each DirecTV receiver has it's own card inside that identifies it to the DirecTV service. The card has to be activated on the service to work, and you have to pay for the card to be activated. In other words, you have to pay the $5 for each box.
