This "right-wing" conservative would like to make a point...
The President that approved the use of free-fire zones, napalm, and agent orange in Vietnam was none other than John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Democrat Lyndon Baines Johnson continued these policies and escalated US involvement. Republican Richard Milhous Nixon brought an end to these policies and US involvement by brokering a peace treaty between North and South Vietnam. North Vietnam eventually went against their word, invaded, ultimately defeating South Vietnam, and reunifying Vietnam under Communist rule.
"The man of knowledge must be able not only to love his enemies but also to hate his friends."

The only conservatives I have heard complain about being called right wing were radio talk show hosts. The context I hear it in tends to be extremist right wing. They like to pretend such a thing can't exist. That and a very small handful of people here, but most of them don't really have a problem with it.

The terms "right wing" or "Left wing" sound very derogetory. Conservative Vs Liberal are more current terms, but I think these terms can be confusing if one doesn't specify "social" vs "economic" For example, I am a fiscal conservative & lean towards the the liberals on social issues.

So it is the conservatives that served in the military even back then, and the Libs were the hippies who spat on the soldiers as they returned... some things never change..

I'm sorry; can you re-ask that question? I don't know what 'cal' means.
Had a bit of trouble also with 'naipalm.'
And while we are here, what unit were you with in Nam to acquire all this first-hand knowledge you seem to have? Or could it be you are just a jerk that would piss his pants if someone yelled "BOO?"
I was in Nam, stud, and I don't remember seeing any silly asshole like you there.

Viet Nam wasn't a conservative's war -- the great escalation came under Johnson, a Democrat. when Democrats controlled congress. It did continue under Nixon. It was more a fear of communism thing and a business thing than a conservative thing

Vietnam was started by a Democrat, and the Democrats controlled both house of congress through most of the war. They only lost the Senate for a short time. Nixon became President and had the US pulled out of Vietnam in three years.

A lot of conservatives call themselves right-wingers, those that don't are hypocrites.
