You need a lot more education if you honestly have to ask that question. By the way, when you write "school" as "skool" it makes you look even more uneducated.

We mandate school because society has an expectation that all in it have a certain minimum proficiency in basic skills. This is increasingly not the case as many who are disinterested begin to drag the overall level of attainable education down. However, it is the basic reasoning behind mandatory school.
