I am cleaning out my grandmother’s house. I have a pick up truck so I can haul the stuff away, but I need to know where is the best and cheapest place to take all this stuff.

The city dump (especially when they have free days to dump stuff)
City park dumpsters. Its totally legal where I live to dump stuff in city dumpsters.
Or you could dump the stuff in Apt complex dumpsters for free. Just make sure to do it at night.
Or just have a large bonfire

Leave it in front of your house for the trash collectors to take.
If they don't take all of it, put an ad in the paper or internet saying that you're offering free junk to haul away (many newspapers have free classifieds for such). Or, put up posters in your neighborhood saying that you're having a garage sale; that way, you might actually *make* money on the junk!
If *that* doesn't work, then just put a sign around the stuff that says, "Free stuff".
And, if THAT didn't do it, replace the "Free stuff" with a sign that reads, "Please don't take any of this", and watch it disappear! ;)

Most municipalities that maintain a city dump allow citizens of that municipality to use it for free or for a very minimal fee. Call the city trash pickup folks and ask them about it.

County dump will probably charge a fee... some places have a Clean Up Day... a free day of dumping... check on that.

Recycle what you can and maybe fill a couple of garbage bags full and toss them in an open dumpsters somewhere. Its probably illegal and you'll get in trouble but its a cheap way.
