What do you think about Joe Torre not being New York Yankees manager?

It's gonna be a big change for not only the Yankees but Joe Torre is one of those few managers who's very well respected all throughout baseball.

I think Steinbrenner could not have made a stupider move. Sure its been a while since the Yanks have won, but to blame your manager is outrageous. Steinbrenner's too used to winning. ONLY 12 playoffs in a row? ONLY 100% of the time? ONLY a quarter of his seasons have been world series titles? How do you let a manager with those kind of numbers go?

in the beginning, i'm a crimson Sox fan. I certainly have seen some video games the place judgements he's made i presumed had a unfavourable effect on the pastime, and that got here about approximately 4 situations. the guy's controlled what a million,one hundred-something wins and four WS and 13 submit Seasons with the Yankees. Boy, do the Steinbrenners look silly and incompetent right now.

I'm no Yankees fan, but Joe Torre is a class act and a great baseball man. The Steinbrenners are not. I don't know who they think they're going to get who can do more than Torre.

It is sad because of the class and terrific leadership that Torre has brought to the clubhouse as manager over these 12 years, not to mention all the hardware he lead the team to.
With that said though, I was happy that the decision to leave was made by Joe, I believe he earned the right to say when he was done, instead of being fired.

I will say one thing about the Yankee braintrust they do have big cujoines (sp ? ) because they are willing to stand in there and take the heat for making what is turning out to be an extremely unpopular decison .
They better be right and I feel sorry for the poor bastard that's in the manager's seat if they're wrong because his time in that seat will be short indeed.

I can understand his position and he can afford that position. On the other hand, if he wants to manage elsewhere, who else will pay him that kind of money? Answer: nobody. So does he go elsewhere "for the love of the game" and not for the money?
