Att: All Charmed fans! How bummed were you when barely any reference was made to Prue in the final episode?

She wasn't featured in the pictures and i was hoping for an appearance from Shannen Doherty! surely it shouldn't be that hard for one episode

I was so bummed. I loved the finally but it was missing her. I mean come one they had everyone from the future, dead, past but not her. And the wall didn't even have a picture of her or that picture of the 3 of theme they used the first three seasons what the f**k. I know she had some trouble with Alyssa but I also know she friends with Holly {Piper I've seen pics of them together since the show ended} so I think if they wanted they could have made a scene with out Phoebe just Prue with Piper or maybe even meeting Paige. I would have been happy with that just showing Prue like from behind so we know she was there. Like in the episode before the Angel finally SMG {Buffy} was busy shooting the Grudge so they used a body double. IMO they didn't even try to include Pure with or without Shannen. LOL maybe I just thought about this too much. ^_^ DJ

The true story is that Doherty did not want to come back to the show, not even for the final show. They tried to come to terms but both sides could not come to an agreement as to how this was to all turn out. So, Doherty pulled out of the negotiations.

It was always my hope that Doherty would get her own show as the angel of death but that never happened and instead Piper got to play death for a day.

They could have used Prue to form the power of three with Piper and Peggy or Patty. Of course the question is what would this mean to Paige who took over Prue's power of telekenesis migh havve some difficulty reclaiming it. Then again Patty being there offered the same problem. grnny was also a telekenetic. Come to think about it Peggy was like Piper a time freezer. So it is a bit wierd how they pulled the power of three spell offin the end without Phoebe and her power.

So, Yes I was upset with the ending inthat it should have been so much better if they had given more thought to the audience and fought for a full crew.

Of the previous main characters in the show, Prue Halliwell, Cole Turner and Darryl Morris did not appear in the episode. As executive producer Brad Kern explained, Darryl could not be fitted into the plot, while bringing back Prue would have centered the episode on her instead of the main cast. While acknowledging criticism for not using photographs of Shannen Doherty in the episode, Kern pointed out a Screen Actors Guild rule that the use of an actor's photograph in a television episode in which the actor does not appear still entitles the actor to a full episodic fee, thus showing one photograph of Doherty would have resulted in one of the returning previous main characters not being able to be afforded.


Everything I have read seems to center around money being an issue during the last couple of seasons. So I guess in Hollywood, this reasoning makes sense.

i totally agree with DJ!
i liked the finale... it was a good way to end charmed but i was so bummed that they didn't even include even a photo of prue on the wall... it was as if piper and phoebe forgot about her. i wish they could have used a body double, just like dj said... that wouldn't have cost a lot of money... i think the only reference to her on the finale was when patty asked about prue... i wish they could have shown her even on the pictures...
