English was made the official language of the U.S. a few years ago, but since there's a significant portion of the population that speaks Spanish, many companies hire interpreters and bilingual employees can make a good living.

History is only useful if you can get to a doctoral level, at which point you can teach.

think it depends on what you want to do with it...

to me getting a degree in Spanish is just like getting a degree in English. except you now know two languages.

You can work pretty much the same places with both I think...

get tired of that... go to law school or get a MBA or something

Spanish is pretty much a requirement and also your pay will be about 10,000 per year more being bi-lingual. I am a Social Worker with a Psyc minor and my advisor advised me to take Spanish and it is true about the extra money. You are more marketable being bi-lingual and spanish speaking.

All depends on what you want to do.
For example:
A history degree is worthless if you want to be a math teacher.
