you need to feel less insecure. Taking an online rejection does not seems as horrible as being rejected in a public place. You also have to learn to screen people better, not everyone in a club or a bar is looking for company, or going home with you. People are online because they are looking for something from as small as passing time to looking for a mate. They can be anyone they want to be including yourself in the safety of their own home behind a closed door. If you are so good online then why not look for women in your area online and setup a meeting date.

In real life, the body language, like a picture, speaks a thousand words ...more than what your friend can type online. The women in the bar he sees in real life probably see him as so-so only. Therefore, chances of him charming women quickly in the bar is much slimmer than charming women online.

It's easier to hide behind closed door, he is comfortable on-line but freezes in person, Suggest double dating that way he has an encouraging friend by his side. If he is at the bar by himself if he drinks a little more ( I am not saying to get blasted) he just might be able to relax enough to have a communication with a female. Tell him to Relax and be himself...

I suppose for some people it's much easier to be yourself when there aren't people watching you, gauging your every move. I'm not good with words vocally but great with writing them down, so when I have something important to say, I usually write a letter. I guess some of us are just wired that way. I am easily flustered when talking to someone face-to-face, and often forget half the clever things I had in my mind to tell them. It's really frustrating!!!

Its because the Internet has broken all of the interpersonal boundaries that exist in an actual face to face situation. That's why people get on the new net and say they are super models and look like crap in reality.
He needs to spend less time macking over the net and more time being able to carry on a face to face convo.

I think people can get a better read on someone in person. The gals online dont' always read they guys that chat with that well. If it's working for him online he should keep up the good work. How good is it working? Is he dating to marry or dating for sex?

Because he has no communication skills other than being able to schmooze women by typing...which anyone can do. Speaking with them face to face has a tendency to expose you as a loser.
