You don't have to live without these foods, but you need to back off of them until the sores heal and then do them in moderation...

Too much acid in your diet but I think that if you were to drink a lot of water or a quick rinse of your mouth after eating these types of foods that you might have a chance of cutting down your body's reaction to them. You might want to try using a straw when drinking as it will help to force the beverage to the back of your throat instead of filling your mouth with the fluid. When you eat the spaghetti, you might try cutting your noodles in small pieces as the large ones take longer to chew so again, the acidic foods spend more time around your gums. Hope these ideas help some.

It is an allergy you have. I too had the same thing, but mine was much worse, caused by certain foods and stress, lasting for at least a week. They are similar to the herpes virus (non-contagious) and can be treated by staying away from foods that cause and irritate them. Go to your local drug store and pick up this little bottle of liquid called "Tanac". I tried everything out there for these mouth sores and finally after years and years I found Tanac and it works damn good. Takes the pain away and heals them up in a day or two.

You can go to the dental part of WalMart, you know where they sell all the toothbrushes/toothpaste stuff, and there should be a small section there that sells treatments for canker sores.

Common chemical: Salicylate Acid
You can use this page to see which foods have the most of it and select your diet accordingly. Most people can tolerate some Salicylate but have some problems if they have too much. If you keep your daily intake low, you may be able to avoid the symptoms.

You are reacting to the acid (mostly citric) in the above foods. Try eating them with something neutral to counter the acids - bread, sugar, crackers, etc. Or eat some papaya enzyme after eating them to counter the acids.
