I want to send a file to a friend but I want the file to be automatically deleted within an hour or two. Is it possible? If so, how? Thanks.

Hi. That is pretty close to what programmers call a "time bomb". It can be done but this is not the forum for discussing it. Sorry.

If you are using Outlook there is another way. Type the contents of the file into an email message. Then in the message window go to Options. In the new window that pops up choose Expires after "X", whatever date/time you wish. The message will not be available to view thereafter. I am unclear as to what exactly happens to the message, I just know the recipient can't view it.

Yes, BM, they could, but I guess I wasn't thinking "evil-y" I just thought of a way to view context and it be unavailable later. You are right, BM, the user could outsmart the expiration of the message by saving it elsewhere, even in word, not just notepad.

Its not something you want to do. It can be thought of as an illegal thing and caught while transferring the file.
First, why do you want to do that??? Have it disappear?? Why?? So he can't distribute it maybe?? If so, then you don't trust the person or the file contents. So, don't sent the file.
;-/

But MiMi can't the recipient just copy those contents to notepad and have the file?

i assume you are able to make a document self delete itself. even though it is going to be unable to easily be downloaded then basically delete by potential of itself. i assume you code an exe while released it deletes itself. exceedingly ineffective. have not seen a form of ever in my life.
