I have a blackberry pearl... It happened this morning before school, but i didnt have time to really do anything thing about it. i took the battery out and dried the inside and the outside. I read somewhere that when you phone is wet to let it soak in rice, so i got a bowl and filled it with rice and put my battery and phone in it. But when I got home from school i put the battery back in and the the scrolly ball on it lighted green instead of white, and there was a red flashing light in the corner but the screen wont turn on. What should I do?!?

the fact that it happened so early and was so long before you could do the rice thing might be the biggest problem here. yeah the rice works but only if you can do it right away before corrosion sets in. good luck.

Basically you are screwed. You did the right thing by taking the battery out and placing it in a bowl of rice to air dry, but the phone had mpre than likely shorted out befoure you could do that. There is an "indicator strip" inside all cell phones that will indicate water damage(the color will change in the presents of moisture) which protects the manufacturer from replacing phoned damaged by water. I would allow the phone to continue to air dry for another 24-48 hours and then try again.

seriously i think that your phone is completely ok.. but i recommend to keep your phone(avoid battery) under hot sunlight for atleast 1.5hrs... then bring it back home and let it cool... then put in the battery and have a try.. still if the problem persists.., you give it for servicing...
