Furniture polish contains silicones which will destroy the finish on your leather.

Leather needs water based cleaners and protecors not polish. Try Lazy Leather for easy maintenance cleaning.
Leather needs conditioning with water based products, do not use oils, waxes, silicones or saddle soap as these may over time damage your leather finish. Most 'conditioners' contain some or all of these things, use a protector instead and you will reap the benefite.

Yes of course, it is. The chemical base of those polishes will ruin your leather. Leather is a hide, it breathes and it needs to be conditioned, not polished. Buy Leather conditioner.

Yes. Saddle soap will clean it but tends to dry it out. Use a good leather conditioner.
