You'd think that with that kind of profit, the government could stop subsidizing them.

"Exxon Mobil and other oil companies may benefit from $2.6 billion in subsidies in the energy bill that is nearing passage in Congress."

take a glance at their earnings and tell me that's no longer obscene. each and every American citizen and company is being gouged. putting oil stooges in Bush/Cheney in severe place of work is like putting the wolves in value of the poultry residing house. by the way, companies do no longer pay taxes till they get the money from their purchasers.

Corporations do not pay taxes! Taxes to the them are another number on a balance sheet, just like transportation, R&D, Labor, Machinery ect........ The bottom line is calculated and the product price is calculated so they can make their profit margin.
When the government taxes corporations it is really a tax on the consumers of the products those corporations sell. The cost of that tax is just passed along to you!

I don't know, but if you counted the extra money I needlessly spent on gas due to imaginary terror threats that hiked up the price, I think you can make a good case that we were all getting bilked by these guys. And the American people paid their taxes for them.

What the narrow minded Liberals don't say is the Democrat Lead Congress is happy with the gas prices, especially when they get almost $.40 a gallon off of you...they wanted to make it higher to pay for "Global Warming" research or some other Government hand out to their friends......their hatred for Bush makes them blind to the corruption in the Democratic Party...

Did you know that Exxon Mobile has a larger economy than most countries? This kind of success can only happen in America.

The only way to make that big of a profit margin is buying low and selling high.
