What Bill did was admirable, but conditions are very different now. The US economy is in a very precarious condition, and it's unlikely that an internet boom will come along to float the economy as it did for Bill. If it all comes crashing down after she takes office, you can be sure the Republicans will blame her.

The reaction will be just as when Bill Clinton accomplished the feat. They will go for personal attacks and try to play down the accomplishment. Defiantly the anti Americanism will try to display again through some religious fanatics pointing at something having nothing to do with government business..

Total shock & Awe. How will killing the 1st world's economy create you fantasy? I've been waiting for any Clinton backer to inform me of one initiative of Clinton's that created the economy of the 90's! You can't use the ending of generational wellfare. It wasn't his idea. Will the Libs answer the question this time?

If she manages to do this, then Republicans will state this was due to Bush's tax cuts prior to Hillary taking office (it can take years for economic policies to affect the economy), proving that supply side economics works and that Hillary should cut taxes more.

I'm not saying that's true or false; just what the spin doctors will say.

They will dredge up all of the old White Water stuff, claim she is a lesbian, and those kind of things. And I am not a Hillary fan and would not vote for her.

They would have a hissy fit. They would accuse her of foul play. How can you run the government on a surplus they would ask. We need to borrow, borrow, borrow and spend. That makes more sense to them. Dump it on your grand kids. Make the little buggers pay for your excess while you brag about how you cut taxes and saved all kinds of money.

I wish! Even if she had eight years in office and a huge economic boom, she wouldn't be able to pay off all of the debt that bush has built up by starting a meaningless war and giving the rich tax cuts.

Same way they did when Bill did the same thing. They'll see through the lies, and their explaination of how it is all a sham will be ignored by the media.
