With so many feet being run over and so many accidents in the past from drivers that have to be right on top of celebs to get the best pictures, should there be laws in place to protect celebrities? I mean if they were ordinary people and someone was stalking them they could file for a restraining order, but they can't do that because they are celebrities. It's not like there are not great cameras that allow for an outstanding picture from 50 or 100 feet.

I do feel sorry for the celebs that are constantly harrassed just for a picture. Especially parents. What do you think?

Ok so Halle Berry deserved to be chased by the paparazzi while she was driving and get pushed into a building. The woman is pregnant and they were just trying to get a pic of her baby bump! Driving is already difficult, no one should have to feel like they are being chased. When you get in your car and drive away that should be the end of the paps.

To Pinch I don't buy rags. I go to TMZ occassionally. It just irritates me that there are no laws to protect celebs to have some sort a normal life. Fans coming up to say hi is one thing, but not letting someone drive away or following them and causing an accident is wrong.

No. When one is in a public place, anyone can photograph you. You cannot reserve some kind of area around you where certain people cannot be, except when a court deems it necessary for your safety.

We don't need the government creating more laws restricting our right to BE. That is a slippery slope, and anyone who is not a moron can easily see the potential consequences of such idiotic legislation.

I feel that you, the asker, seem to be willfully immersed in the very culture of celebrity that allows paparazzi to function. If people like you didn't buy US Weekly and other garbage publications, paparazzi would not exist.

I think if we quit buying the rags that publish the pics and quit watching the tv that deals only with celebs lives and stuff that really isn't any of our business, there would be fewer papparazzi bothering people and getting their idiot feet run over. I'm no Britney Spears fan, but that guy got what he deserved.

Never feel sorry for gazillionaires. Hey, I have a problem with people all on top of me while taking the subway in the morning, so boo hoo.

The papparazzi are trying to earn their dollars, just like the celebrities earn theirs. Believe me if these stars weren't in the latest magazines, their publicists would have a fit.

Here's a suggestion for celebs - stay in your gated mansions and send your assistant to get your mocha frappuccino w/fries. You're not a regular person anymore, you can't still act like one. That's the price you pay for fame and money.

I agree. Britteny was charged today with running over a paparazzi foot. I don't think she drove up on the sidewalk to do it!!! So, we have them blocking her way, taking her picture and refusing to get out of the way. Then suing when their stupidity to get an up-skirt picture gets them hit. For their own good, give them some more rules.

Celebrities can also file for restraining orders, and some of them do. Truth is, being a celebrity is a job - they are being paid rather well for that lifestyle, so they should be prepared to deal with the consequences.

Agree. I read that Brad and Angelie are constantly harassed by other parents while taking thier kids to school. It's not like it's a public school, for goodness sake, you'd think those other rich parents would be a bit more cool, polite, and frankly jaded. I think it's awful.

like i tell people that want to be a star.Once you become one ,your life is no longer yours.
YES the papparazzi littery can destroy a star.
And the thing is the law protects them.
Now we have Millie syracs,a youg star that hasto
have gards around her night and day.
Someday the law will wise up,after a few girls get
raped, and other stars are killed in car wrecks.

If people wouldn't make such a big deal about celebrities the papparazzi wouldn't make any money on their pictures and they would leave people alone. People shouldn't get so obssessed with famous people...

Most of the celebrities that are often in the tabloids put themselves in that situation (ex:Britney Spears) I don't feel the least bit sorry for these celebrities.
