Don't get depo!
I am on Kariva (Pill) after four years of HELL on depo.

I have never used either but as a nurse would never ever recommend the depo shot. I have seen people literally ill every day of their life and the docs couldn't figure out what was wrong when they took the depo shot. I have know people with excess bleeding and other problems from it too. Also when you stop using the shot it can take up to a year or more for the effects to get out of your body. To me that is just plain dangerous. Personal opinion mind you though.

Depo makes you gain LOTS of weight--more so then the min pill...
I think I gained close to 20...thank goodness I lost it---but it took about 3 months of being off depo before I was able too.

Depo. I had NO side effects, I don't have my period on it, and I don't have to worry for 3 months.
The Pill made my periods really irregular, made me gain weight, and I was bad about taking it at the same time every day (if you don't do that, its not as effective.)
