Does anyone have any suggestions on what type of printer I should buy to print my custom wedding invitations? I am having trouble finding a color printer that will take various media sizes (ie: not 8 1/2 x 11, legal or 11x17). I'd appreciate any thoughts/suggestions!

A fairly entry level canon will printer on all sorts of media. They are a top feed which allows them to handle heavier card stocks.

Most schematics that are posted will have a list of all the media the printer will handle. Just look for a very long list.

Most printers can take custom sizes UP TO the max they can handle. Hwever remember not all "nice paper" is inkjet compatable.

All you need do to use custom sizes is usally creeate a document with THAT SIZE as the doc size.
Set printer paper seze to custom and enter the dimensions. then print.

BUT always print 1 proof, and get someone else to proof read it before printing 50, I printed the first 50 invites to our wedding with a glaring typo . . . "Weeding Invite" OOPS

considering the fact which you're doing those your self, i anticipate you attempt to save money. if that's the case, finding out on a complicated invitation that has 3 photos will certainly defeat the objective, you may besides basically purchase them. quite i might advise to maintain it less complicated, use a million picutre for the front. in case you like a competent high quality image, you'll have a image printer. in case you haven't any longer have been given a photoprinter, then i might advise to draft your invitation useing MS notice or Microsoft writer, then take it on a disc and have it printed at an place of work furnish save. in case you have them printed, flow with a black and white (or sepia) image. you will get the sepia tones look by potential of printing the black and white image on cream colored cardstock. the rationalization I say black and white is using the fact shade copies are plenty greater high priced. that's well worth it to have those printed! the interior maximum invites don't have photos, they do have ornamental products which includes scroll artwork and borders. Microsoft writer is rather the main suitable application to apply. i've got used this with invites and courses. you're able to do something like have the exterior printed on cardstock and the interior printed on commonplace paper or vellum and then basically fold them mutually. you are able to shelter them with ribbon, or sparkling glue dots. in case you are trying this, save 2 records one for the exterior and one for the interior, this makes it plenty much less complicated while having it printed. good success!
