I think of elegant as Audrey Hepburn like. Poise, charisma, classy.
I'd love to be elegant. I don't think I qualify. Can one take elegant classes?

Elegant means getting all dressed up, looking beautiful, and having a lot of poise.
I love wearing jeans!! Does that make me not elegant ? Awww......man!! That's not fair! LOL Just kidding.
I looked up "elegant" in Webster's. It says, "Having dignified, richness and grace, as of a manner, design, or dress."
I guess that rules me out. We've been married for 30 years, and I'm elegant to my husband in my panties!! It's just the 2 of us, the cats don't care, and we love being alone in our shorts. Fun question deserves a star. :)

elegant means 1, manners,2, dressed neat and clean,3, hair in a fashinable do, not everyone is elegant, because thats not just the style anymore, its how one carries thenselves, you can be dressed in jeans, and still act and look elegant, your personality can reflect that also, theirs nothing worse, than a loud, vulgar woman. I am retired, but when the hubby and I go out, I look elegant, more than most, more feminine that most, because thats how I was raised. I never go out without my makeup on and my hair done, I have great hair, its blonde and very thick for someone my age, and I wear it in a very modern long style, just sorta plain, straight, my hubby loves the long blonde hair, so I won't cut it, I do not look my age. I have always stayed out of the sun. thats what elegance meansto me, how one carries themselves, and how one preseives thenselves to others.

I'm not a very "elegant" type of girl. It's nice that you look for that in someone, though. Elegance to me means grace and feminity. Class.

well yes but that would be only sometimes. elegance means a girl doesn't has to wear expensive jewelry or gown, but simple outfit just makes her shines...and also with the way she walks, talks and smiles that you feel like changing yourself to be more polite and get closer to her. that's how, you will just get that idea of elegance inside your head....your eyes will never stop following her wherever she goes

I am capable of being elegant, however I like to burp and watch sports. I think elegant is a way to carry yourself. Graceful, ladylike and classy.

Elegance, for me, is assosciated with the rich and stuck up or pretending to be rich. They're typically shallow and into "refined" styles. They think they're better then every one else and pride themselves on their psuedoBritish accents. My grandmother, is elegant. I am not. You'll get alot of negative connotations stuck in most girls' minds with that word.

I can be elegant when I want to ... meaning graceful, dressed tastefully but not overdone, just enough makeup to enhance my best facial features (eyes), little or no jewelry, good posture along with walking with confidence but not with conceit, and the ability to laugh and enjoy every aspect of my life ...
