Well, depends on what your hobbies are.. are you crafty? Do you read alot? Do you like flowers/gardening? I would go to one of these stores, find a short, do it yourself project. Also, depends on how long he's gonna be gone too, you might find a project to do that might take awhile longer. Or, maybe get in the car and do a short road trip to an area you guys haven't been to. Who knows? You might find an area of interest that both of you would like to check out together sometime. That way, you could get some info on it, and surprise him with a day/weekend trip to this new found location. If you've just moved, are all your "extra" boxes cleared out or that spare room clean/neat/organized? Get some paint, re-paint a small area that you could do in a short weekend... All kinds of things... If this is gonna be an ongoing thing or a normal routine thing for him to be away, go to some places that need volunteers... check those out and possibly sign up!

try a new hobby? if your husband is going to be out of town a lot on business (you didn't say whether he would be, or not), there are tons of things you can do..... scrapbooking, some sort of art, card making, etc.
also, maybe you could join a gym, or get involved in some sort of part time volunteer work (you didn't say whether or not you already have a job, but volunteering is a good way to meet people).
take care.

Read a good book.
Do lots of exercise. Lots.
Go to a museum - going alone is the best - you can spend as much or as little time on each thing as you want.
Drive around and check stuff out. I dunno - I like to do that.
Cook food that freezes well (i.e. chili) and fill your freezer up. Easy meals in the future.
Learn something new - something new to cook, some new game, or some new skill.

Go sight seeing and learn about the town. Perhaps scout some places you can go together for when he is in town.
