My husband and I went out for lunch today and our waitress was HORRIBLE. She never checked on us once for refills or extra napkins the whole time we were there...and I had to get up to tell her we needed our ticket, so I didn't leave her a tip. Normally I will tip the proper 15%, but if they are just extra crappy I won't leave anything.

Usually for the most part (we don't eat out much) I understand people have their days and stresses (the person could've lost a loved one etc.) or it's lunch/diner rush. Usually though I get the persons attention and ask if we have been waiting for awhile the waiter/waitress usually apologizes.

If I get a waiter/waitress that is crappy, I only tip them the minimum amount and not a penny more. I also let the manager know that I did not like the serve that I received.

Geez, what a bit**. Good for you on not leaving a tip. I wouldn't do the same.
