I will be surprised if Nadal lost in clay. With or without injury, Nadal is not so good playing in hard court. Most of his title is in clay court.

I could not believe it as Rafa is clearly the more talented player. Nalbandian got lucky in this match. Every player's gonna be off every once in a while, including Federer. Keep in mind Rafa hadn't played in 5 weeks, so he had quite a bit of time off. Once he heads to Paris, he'll probably be more prepared and play tennis the way we're used to seeing him play.

It's disappointing that around this time of year, Rafa's not the same player he is at the beginning and mid-point of the year. I think he's learned some valuable lessons this year, that he'll take into consideration next year. He'll probably play less, rest more, and hopefully make those 1 or 2 key adjustments to his game, so he can have a big year.

Yes, David N. won this match. However, Nalbandian's suffered from a major lack of confidence, which is why he fell in the rankings. Just because he won this match, doesn't mean he'll get back to the top, as he'll stay right outside of the Top 20. This was one of those rare occasions where his game actually thrived against a Top 10 player.

I was very disappointed and shocked, but knowing Rafa, he'll bounce back. Hopefully, 2008 will be a year to remember for Nadal. No, he's probably not going to finish this season the way he would like, but there's always next year to look forward too. All Rafa's fans look forward to many great things from him.

Anna, I enjoyed it! I enjoyed it! I enjoyed it!!!!!! i'm commencing as much as ask your self what's it that Rafa Nadal can not do at this component, because of the fact he purely keeps to attack all and sundry in this floor. i think of he's like 39-3 already this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, with 5 titles. he's on hearth ideal now, and that i don't see why he can not bypass out and win Roland Garros for a 5th 3 hundred and sixty 5 days in a row. If I have been Rafa, i might bypass forward and pass Madrid, because of the fact he's had adequate coaching now to be waiting for Paris. He could have the money for to loosen up for the subsequent 3 weeks pondering he already had an 80 one-journey triumphing streak, it does not ask your self me if he got here close to it back. certainly, i might want to have considered him choose for Chris Evert's all-time checklist, had it not been for final 3 hundred and sixty 5 days's injury in Rome. besides the shown fact that, i admire observing Nadal rack up call after call. i'm greater advantageous than confident that Rafa exchange into born to make history in tennis. The greater he wins, the greater history he makes. large attempt by making use of Djoker. It sucks that he will fall to No. 4 in Madrid, yet i'm proud that he gave it his best accessible. he's having an incredible clay courtroom season too, so i'm hoping he keeps his head up and keeps shifting forward. VAMOS RAFA!!! Congrats on your fifteenth Masters call.

Nabaldian is a great player and very clever. The indoor surface favoured his kind of playing. Rafa has been out of circulation and not playing competitive tennis for over a month. He had a hard time beating Bagdhatis and Murray the two previous days. So I can't say I was truly surprised.

Nadal needs a rest. Hopefully, he'll bounce back.
Yes,I was sorry for Nadal but happy for Nabaldian too who is a talented opponent.

I knew that he will lose when I saw the way Nalbandian was playing, he was very good, his back hand was very nice.
But I was surprised of the result 6-1 6-2 , it's the worst loss for Nadal in 3 years

Nadal is not at his best on indooor surfaces, and Nalbandian is. If I remember correctly Nalbandian won the year end masters a few years ago, or was at least in the finals. That's just his surface, like clay is for Nadal.

Unfortunetly, Nadal is still hurt and he shouldn't have played in this match. But Nalbandian played outstanding tennis and deserved to win the match.
