About two months ago I started going out on Tuesday and Thursday nights and wouldn’t come home until around 10:30. I originally told my wife I was going bowling with some guys from work, but the problem is now she thinks I’m having an affair. She hasn’t confronted me about it, but I know her and I know she thinks that I am. The tension in my house is so bad it could be cut with a knife. What my wife really doesn’t know is that I’m actually taking ballet lessons, but I’ve been too embarrassed to tell her. I have to drive all the way across town for fear of being caught by someone I know. I’ve always had this tough guy image around her, our family and friends, so it’s kind of hard to admit that I enjoy frolicking around in black tights. Should I just give in and tell her what’s really going on?

Well, thanks a lot for ruining my life!
I called, told her, and she says, "What are you some kind of fag? Don't come home tonight." Then hangs up. Just great.

Black tights? Please - don't lie to me. I know they are pink.

Your wife will be touched by your honesty and sincerity. Women understand that men need time away as an outlet, i.e., boys night out. Tell her of your lessons. It will relieve tension and concern on both parts. She may also wonder why you didn't explain yourself, in the first place. You will have to approach this gingerly and offer to take her along for a lesson. She may think you're having an affair with your teacher. (Women have cess pools when it comes to our sunconscious.) This is something you will laugh about together, enjoy together and surely bring you closer than ever before.

I suggest you schedule some private time with her, fill the bedroom with candles, and have her wait on the bed for you. Come out of the closet with your tights on and ask her if she thinks you are beautiful the way you are - the way god made you - with all your hopes and dreams of performing the nutcracker.
If she doesn't go for it, tell her you are on drugs lately, meth should work fine - that stuff will make you do crazy stuff like go to ballet lessons. She'll understand the meth problem more readily than the ballet problem.

That is SOOOO funny. Not that you are taking ballet. I mean, look at Lynn Swann of the 70's Pittsbugh Steelers. He took dance lessons for years including ballet. It's funny because it's totally innocent, your embarrasment is understandable, her suspicions are understandable, and funny because it's like the backdrop for a really funny sitcom.
You should tell her. But wait until the big dance recital, then surprise her with an elegant and graceful performance.

You're not going to be happy with any lady with whom you don't share core common interests, including sensual desires. If you're into ballet and she's into NASCAR, do you really think there's a future for the two of you together? Especially now that you're discovered the simple pleasures of tights and might desire to wear them around the house for lounging about.

Hi...
Yes, for sure tell her. It's sure not worth ruining your marriage, is it? You surely wouldn't rather have her think you're having an affair as opposed to taking ballet, would you?
Or, could there be something else going on you don't want her to know about?
Dude...TELL the woman, and take her to class with you. Maybe you could do something together, like ballroom dancing, as well as your ballet? Include her...don't lie to her!
Good luck!

Being honest is always what you need to do in a relationship. I would rather know my husband is frolicking around in tights than out having an affair.

Don't tell her. Take her with you to one of your lessons, so she can actually see for herself what you have been doing. You have not only lied to her, but have let her believe you are having an affair. Are you willing to let your marriage crumble because you are to much of a coward to let her know you are taking ballet. I am pretty sure she would much rather know you were dancing around in black tights then dancing around someone elses bedroom.

Of course! Maybe she'll even like you in tights! It's better than having an affair, that's for sure. She might have a problem with you lying about bowling, but if she understands your embarrassment, she should get over it. Good Luck!

Lemme guess, after ballet class, you secretly go to the store and buy Miller Chill also, right?
Seriously, what's wrong with ballet? Tell her what's going on!! Knowing me, I probably would've dumped her because my one pet peeve is being accused of something I didn't do. so if wifey accuses ME of cheating, she better have hard, incontrovertible evidence right there, or I'm hittin' the door!!
Ain't Sweetest Day coming up?!

If you love her tell her haven't you ever seen the movie shall we dance it is almost exactly what you are saying and he got caught and it almost crushed her that he couldn't tell her what was going on. I think if you love her you should tell her.
Also great for you for taking ballet!!! You shouldn't be ashamed at all the is wonderful!!
I want my husband to take ballroom dancing with me but he doesn't have the time!!! I'm proud of you now just tell your wife I'm sure she will be happy for you..
