We finally got it to start but it won't stay running. Replaced the spider injectors, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump and fuel filter. Runs very rich and choppy with a loud engine knock. Gas comes out of exhaust. When it first died I was driving it and it just quit. No signs, had just put in gas the day before. Don't know why its running so rich or what the noise is. Trying to pay off loan so I can just get rid of it for parts. Any ideas on what the problem may b? We've hit a dead end with a brick wall. Please serious answers only. Selling not an option til paid off dealerships wont pay more than about 500.00 4 nonrunnig vehicle. Need to make it run to sell it and pay to off loan. Thanks for any help.

sounds as if you have covered all the basics ---first i would start by checking the fuel pressure with a pressure guage at the inlet/pressure line at the rear of the intake manifold--should have around 60 psi and the pressure should hold with the key off.if pressure is not adequate recheck your pump connection(is the hose clamped on tightly inside the tank?)if pressure is bleeding off after pump shut off possible causes are a stuck open poppet valve on the spider or a stuck open check valve in the pump...........................ALSO remove and check your egr valve---if it sticks open it will cause hard start/poor running conditions as well-----jimmys and blazers are notorious for egr faults...............hopr that helps and good luck.

when you pulled the upper plenum off to replace the injectors was it all black and nasty or was one area pretty clean. if it was clean you have a leak. most probuably the lines inside the plenum going to the injector/regulator/popet assy. pull the plenum bak off and let somone else try and start it while you watch for leaking gas.if one of the lines are leaking go to the dealer and tell the parts man you need a nut kit. why its called a nut kit ill never know thats just what gm calls it. oh by the way there i 1 torx bolt that holds it in and its a pain in the a**.
hope this helps

TBI, right? I think so. Anyways, pull the breather, buy a 2.00 can of snap carb cleaner. When you get it to fire, spray a mist of carb cleaner into the intake. If it gains in rpm, and runs good for a minute, it maybe bad fuel or a lot of gum up.
If not, dump raw fuel down the intake. DON"T FLOOD IT.
Then rty to start it, throttlle halfway down.
Also, how does the fuel spray look out of the injectors?
