That is made fairly clear by simply watching his actions. The man is a fat sham and a phony. He is followed only by the leftist lemmings.

I think,no matter what a person has been ,he should be given a benefit of doubt if he wants to do some good for the society.Judge him by all means but not with the old impressions we have had of him.I have been a no admirer of Al Gore and considered him a Sham politician but this time around he is doing a good job.As they say that, 'give the devil his due',so why not to Al Gore(An ex lesser-devil)?

I confess I don't hear or watch too much news lately, but: Is the jet his? If it is there's nothing wrong w/it. It is not like he's still a government official and is using one unapproved, such as was the case a while back with a Bush administration official_can't remember who it was.

I would suppose the wallet is his, and the money in it he's gaining it through work. I recall when all the black clouds finally dispersed after the horrendous Florida election ordeal, that it was reported he would be getting paid handsomely for his speeches round the nation.

Third: He does care for the environment. Even if it's hard for some to think there are people who would spend so much of their life in pursuit of things for which not many will be grateful_and for which many obstacles would be placed_there are indeed people like that. They are incessant and keep pushing till gaining something; in this case to have most of the world's attention to GLOBAL WARMING and subsequent destruction of earth's many resources if nothing is done soon.

Al Gore has always been about Al Gore. He's always worn the cloak of an environmentalist while doing being the scenes stuff that rivals and evil Republican corporate wonk.

If it benefits Al Gore, he's on the bandwagon.

As always, those who disagree with Al Gore's politics can't bring themselves to accept that Gore's new cause is an honorable and important contribution to the global society.

Gore's got plenty of money; what makes anyone believe he profits from his crusade to save the world's environment?

By the way, Daniel C. - I believe Gore's home IS powered by solar energy.

I personally have seen Al Gore on a commercial flight from New York, flying COACH, with what I assumed to be his contingent of three Secret Service agents. I seriously doubt it's "his" jet - it's probably leased...and it's highly likely the jet is used frugally, and is probably designed to be one of the most fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly manufactured.

Arrogance, avarice, selfishness and hubris has set in - and most of those who oppose Gore's views on global warming are simply refusing to admit that they would rather squander the Earth's resources than give up their creature comforts. When I answered a similar question a few days ago, I actually had someone respond that man need not adapt to the world's conditions, but makes the world's conditions adapt to him!

It's disheartening to see so many millions of Americans in denial. Since the Industrial Revolution 150 years ago, we have helped escalate the threat posed by global warming; but instead of trying to do something to save the planet, most Americans prefer to still drive around in their gas-guzzling Hummers and SUVs; refuse to REduce, REuse, and REcycle; and continue to waste all of Earth's precious resources.

Those young people who haven't started raising families yet are the most vulnerable. Imagine in fifty years you have a beautiful, darling grandchild. Imagine she climbs up on your lap some day, wearing a gas mask (so she can breathe fresh air), and asks, "What did you to to prevent global warming or preserve the Earth's natural resources, Grandpa?" HOW WILL YOU ANSWER HER??

"Well, Honey, I didn't like Al Gore, so I didn't do anything to help save the Earth's environment or preserve the delicate ecological balance between man, plants and animals necessary for our very survival."

"Well, Honey, I didn't give a damn because I need to impress my friends with my $100,000 Hummer; take clients out to five-star restaurants for $100.00 sushi dinners; heat and air-condition my $1,000,000 home; and pile up mountains of money in my stock portfolio."

"Well, Honey, I didn't care if polar bears, rain forests, clean water, remote Eskimo tribes, exotic frogs in the Amazon basin, mangrove forests, great white whales, giant pandas, caribou, humming birds, squirrels, and trees all disappeared, because none of them had any direct influence on my money-grubbing lifestyle."

"Well, Honey, I assumed that God gave humans 'dominion' over all plants and animals, and I thought that meant we could use them all up instead of protecting, preserving, or nurturing them to be part of the global environment."

I think he does care, but he must set a better example if he wants others to listen to him. He should put solar panels on his mansion, for starters; that would cut his $1200 electric bills!

Thats the million dollar question. He seems to want to make a difference now that he is not liable to run as our president. I think he is just trying to make an impression.

I suspect that he's done just a little more than you in addressing climate change. This should be a bi -partisan issue.
