Because they are self serving scoundrels. Michael Grade hoped to look good by announcing a zero tolerance policy - what that turned out to be was a zero responsibility policy.

You are absolutely right - they are a load of crooks. I hope the police decide to investigate.

According to Yahoo, the Serious Fraud Office is investigating at the instigation of politicians.

So they might yet be taken to court.

Because it wasn't theft, it was gullibility on the part of the people watching. Just like it's gullibility on your part whenever you pay over $50. for a pair of shoes or piece of junk jewelry on the Home Shopping Network.

I must not watch the channel these are on. Commercials for most products or services contain a disclaimer on the screen. You need to read and understand it.
