I'd consult a dietician, perhaps someone with experience with pregnancy and vegetarians. Your insurance might even pay for it. I'd be concerned about protein most, particularly the complete variety with all seven (or is it nine?) essential amino acids. Quinoa (a Peruvian grain) is the only known plant-based source of complete protein. Rice and beans together also make a complete protein, so do beans and corn. Many vegetarians rely on soy for protein, but many dietary experts feel that overdoing it on soy is not healthy. Do you eat eggs?

Skinny people don't start gaining much weight until you're about 5 months along. Personally, I lost 6 pounds in the first couple of months and then started gaining weight after that. Make sure you get enough protein for your baby and take your vitamins.

Just eat like you always do, but talk to your doctor about what kinds of foods you should add into your diet for your baby. Since babies need more than what you eat, and make sure you are taking prenatal vitamins. Pasta and white potatoes help with weight gain. Eat a variety of nuts and peanut butter, foods that have protein in them ok.

The fetus requires MUCH more in the way of nutrition and protein in order to thrive and be healthy. You need to start eating meat and you need to start doing it NOW before you harm the fetus. If you can't or won't eat red meat, eat fish and chicken. Unless you're under 5 foot tall, you are underweight to a degree that is unhealthy for you AND your fetus. Please talk to a physician about your diet.
