I have an old Honda Prelude. I went away on business for four months, and my wife never started it up. Now it won't start, but it also won't move when I put it in Neutral to push it for towing purposes. It is an automatic transmission. Any suggestions?

You probably left the handbrake on and the shoes are stuck to the drum.
The best way to free them is to remove the wheel trims and hit the wheels nice and hard with a lump hammer.
Also if you are going to tow it make sure you have the front wheels off the ground as you may damage the gearbox.

Jump start will probably get it fired again.
Parking it for 4 months - I'd drain the gas too.

The reason your not able to move it is because the brake pads are rusted to the rotors - you need to either start it and drive it - or tow it until it breaks free.

Then normal breaking will clean the pads and rotors

Transmission is frozen. Bad on her for not starting it up and at least driving it around the block once a week. You'll now have to get it towed to a tranny shop.

It relies upon on in spite of in case you have an computerized or a instruction manual transmission. some automatics might properly be broken through rolling the motor vehicle for any significant distance in impartial, because it facilitates the rear pump to teach devoid of sufficient fluid circulate for lubrication. With a instruction manual transmission, no injury would be accomplished to something. besides the incontrovertible fact that, the gas mark downs would be no longer something or negligible, and in maximum states, "coasting" is unlawful.

I assume there's nothing external holding the car in place? Was your parking brake set while you were away? If so the brake pads may have stuck to the wheel drums. *Carefully* Tapping the drums with a hammer sometimes works to free them.
