Naah. The anonymity of the net makes people say things they would never say in polite company.

Yes, I know people who are really as rude, crude, opinionated, and partisan in real life. There are even a few who live in the senior building where I live. I hate to admit this but I also have a few family members this mean.

I tend to agree that you have some people on here who are SO liberal or SO conservative that they cannot ever even see an opposing viewpoint and consider it at all. They thumbs down anyone who doesn't say exactly what they want to hear and they think that the other side is 'brainwashed' by the leaders of whatever party. They insult someone's intelligence if they have a different opinion...
I agree... there'd be a lot of broken noses.

In my opinion... and I know it's just MY opinion... unless someone says something just purely hateful or misspells words and uses horrific grammar, calling them stupid makes you look stupid. Differing viewpoints are what makes it possible to learn new things. That being said, I think the ultimate in stupidity is going along with either party no matter what... because it means you're not thinking for yourself.

Unfortunately, we have several like that here on YA. Best thing to do is not even to acknowledge them... it just feeds their rhetoric machine and conspiracy bent!

Yes I know of a few who are and they are Republicans. They would rather see a child die than receive free health care. They don't get it that there are fewer and fewer jobs these days. I have heard these people with my own ears! One is my own Aunt. She says the most hateful, mean things that it just breaks my heart. She has always voted Republican. My Mother was raised to be a Republican but thank God my Father was able to change her mind. My Aunt will tape Bill O'Reily and she thinks Sean Hannedy is just the cutest thing. She has not one compassionate bone in her body! We are loosing one more factory in my city at the end of this week. And One more is threatening to shut down soon. My Father worked a G.M. so did my Uncle by marriage my Aunts dead husband G.M. and it is his income she is living off of not the other husband who died. G.M. left Town several years ago followed by at least 15 others. There is no work here. I love my Aunt but I hate to talk politics with her.

They can be. People in the real world take things a step further and commit violent acts against people. So, I rather deal with the insults.

Yes, but they hide it better so they don't get their a** kicked about ten times a day.
A better question might be,"Do people really beleive half they BS they spout on YA"?

If that's the case, we're all in deep doo-doo in this country !
